Cleaning Tips for uPVC soffits and Fascias
To help you undertake this process, below you will find our expert’s top cleaning tips for this area of your roof.
- Avoid using cleaners which are harsh or abrasive. If you were to use this type of cleaner, then they may strip the plastic of its gloss.
- Soak the soffits and fascias in warm, soapy water. This will lift off the dirt that’s built up across these parts.
- Once you’ve soaked them, move on to a pressure wash. A pressure washer is a great tool to have on hand for this cleaning process. It is a powerful jet wash, which quickly and easily lifts off any grime or dirt from these areas, including nooks and crannies which are almost impossible to reach any other way. Begin by washing the roof with clean water.
- Then, the next best step would be to use diluted detergent within the pressure washer. This will help to give the soffits and fascias a thorough clean.
- When you use the pressure washer, set it to a medium pressure. Then, gradually guide the wash along the soffits and fascias at a slow pace. This will ensure a complete, thorough clean.
If you don’t have a pressure washer, you can use a garden hose. A good tip on how to use detergent with your garden hose: unscrew the top of your hose and pour some detergent down the hose pipe. Put the head back on, and use as normal.
